A private space for us to converse and connect
Today I’m testing a new addition to my Substack publication: the Powder Picker Substack subscriber chat.
This is a ‘conversation’ via the Substack app that I set up exclusively for subscribers — kind of like a group chat or live hangout. I’m thinking it might be a better place to recieve comments on the videos. It will also allow me to to continously solicit and accept feedback about what you like/liked and don’t/didn’t like. Squeaky wheel gets the grease!
For example, I’m thinking of shortening the videos to less than a minute, really focussing on the Super Dave Ensemble output and the quality of snow given the temperature and wind. Thoughts?
To join the chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app, now available for both iOS and Android. Chats are sent via the app, not email, so turn on push notifications so you don’t miss conversation as it happens.
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Substack Chat is now available on both iOS and Android.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.

Hey Ralph, thanks for the feedback. Good to know! I wonder how many other instructors are using the PP as a tool?!!
I use this as a tool (I’m a ski instructor) to plan my day so, as Richard said direction is useful information, temperature and wind speed, are also super important.
I access the videos via instagram as well as here.
